A one-way door is the heart of possum removal. It is a short mesh tunnel with a flap on the outer end that swings only one way. Fitted over the gap a possum is using, it lets the possum push out of the roof when it leaves at night. When it comes back, the flap will not open from outside, and the way in is gone.
Getting the placement right makes all the difference.
