Ridge capping runs along the peak of a tiled roof, covering the join where the two sides meet. On older roofs, the mortar that holds the capping in place cracks and crumbles over time, leaving gaps at the ends and underneath. Possums love these spots because they are high up, close to trees and lead straight into the ceiling space.
